Daniele C. Struppa, Ph.D. may be the thirteenth president of Chapman University, effective September 1, 2016. Formerly, Dr. Struppa held the career of Chancellor at Chapman University.
Dr. Struppa joined up with Chapman University in 2006 as provost, in charge of producing and applying priorities that are academic the University and also for the allocation of resources to aid those priorities. In 2007, by the addition of further leadership obligations, he had been appointed as ChapmanвЂ™s chancellor that is first.
He stumbled on Chapman University from George Mason University, where he served as director for the Center for the Applications of Mathematics, as seat associated with the Department of Mathematical Sciences, and also as connect dean for graduate studies. In 1997, he had been chosen dean of George MasonвЂ™s College of Arts and Sciences.
Ahead of their tenure at George Mason, Dr. Struppa held roles in the University of Milano (Milan, Italy), the Scuola Normale Superiore (Pisa, Italy) as well as the University of Calabria (Calabria, Italy).
Dr. Struppa attained their laurea in math through the University of Milan, Italy in 1977, and received his doctorate degree in math through the University of Maryland, university Park, in 1981. In recognition of their work, he’s been granted the Bartolozzi Prize through the Italian Mathematical Union (1981), as well as the Matsumae Medal through the Matsumae Overseas first step toward Tokyo (1987).
